Sizzling Scouser Stephen Bunting insists he couldn’t care less what anyone else is doing as he’s charging along like Arne Slot’s Liverpool. The Bullet soared into a last 16 tie of the Worlds against Luke Woodhouse with a 100 average. Bunting was given an incredible reception by his fan base and says he’ll use his Army to drive him on. Slot’s side have laser focus at the top of the English Premier League. Bunting wants to emulate as he said: “I couldn’t care less what the others are doing, to be honest with you. It’s all about me, isn’t it? The Bunting Bandwagon. “You look at the fan base, it’s unbelievable, my social media’s just flying up and when you listen to that crowd. I was crying on the walk-on, it was that emotional, so maybe I need to rein in it a tiny bit, maybe not get so invested in the walk-on, But it’s a special place to play here in the Ally Pally. “Listen, when you’re up on that stage, there’s no hiding, it’s a lonely place, if things don’t go right, there’s only you to blame. But when you’re up there and you’ve got 3,000, 4,000, whatever it may be in the venue all shouting your name, you know for a fact that your opponent must be hearing that and maybe it affects them. “I literally just ride on that crest of a wave and I just kept on and I’m so happy that. Listen, the Bunting Bandwagon goes on. Coming into this tournament I’m playing the best I’ve ever played in my life, so I feel like the confidence is there. With that fan base, who knows where I can go, but I’m reaching for the top.” Asked if others are paying to attention to him, Bunting continued: “I don’t care. If they are, then happy days, I’m doing something right, aren’t I? “It doesn’t matter what anyone else does, it’s all about me. Same at Liverpool Football Club. Why worry about all the others because we’re 27 points ahead!”Spears' 31 lead UTSA past Houston Christian 78-719jili

Published 23:41 IST, November 30th 2024 Jaishankar while mentioning Tipu Sultan as a complex figure noted the adverse effects of his rule in the Mysore region. New Delhi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Saturday attended the launch of Indian historian Vikram Sampath's book 'Tipu Sultan: The Saga of the Mysore Interregnum' at the Indian Habitat Centre in Delhi. Jaishankar described Tipu Sultan as a “very complex figure in history,” highlighting both his resistance to British colonial control and the controversial aspects of his rule. Speaking at the event, Jaishankar said, “Tipu Sultan is actually a very, very complex figure in history. On the one hand, he has the reputation as a key figure who resisted the British colonial control over India, and it is a fact that his defeat and death can be considered a turning point when it came to the fate of peninsular India.” However, Jaishankar also noted the "adverse" effects of Tipu Sultan's rule in the Mysore region. "At the same time, he evokes strong adverse sentiments even today in many regions, some in Mysore itself," he added. Jaishankar further emphasized that Indian history has focused more on Tipu Sultan's battles with the British, and "underplaying" or "neglecting" other aspects of his rule. "Contemporary history writing, certainly at the national level, has focused largely on the former, and underplaying, if not neglecting the later. Let's be honest, this was not an accident," he said. Asserting that History is complicated, Jaishankar said that "cherry-picking of facts" in the case of Tipu Sultan has led to the advancement of a "political narrative". "Histroy, in all societies, is complicated, and politics indulges in cherry-picking the facts. This has happened in the case of Tipu Sultan. By highlighting the Tipu-English binary, to the exclusion of a more complicated reality, a particular narrative has been advanced over the years," he said. Jaishankar reaffirmed that under PM Modi's government, India has seen the emergence of alternative perspectives. "In the last 10 years, the changes in our political dispensation have led to the emergence of alternative perspectives. We are no longer prisoners of a vote bank, nor it is politically incorrect to bring out inconvenient truth," he added. Speaking further about the book, Jaishankar said, “As someone from the diplomatic world, I was really struck by info and insights which are provided in this volume on Tipu Sultan. We in India have tendered to mainly study post-independence foreign policy -- perhaps this too was a conscious choice. But the fact is that many of our kingdoms and states forayed into international affairs in previous centuries in pursuance of thier particular interests, and some, by the way, continued to do so even till independence. The interaction of Tipu's missionary with their French and English counterparts is really fascinating.” Jaishankar concluded by saying that open-minded scholarship and genuine debate are central to India's evolution as a pluralistic society and vibrant democracy. “The Apprentice” star Sebastian Stan , who portrays a young Donald Trump in the biopic released last month , revealed this week his co-stars and other actors have since distanced themselves from the controversial project out of fear. The biographical drama, directed by Ali Abbasi , chronicles the early days of the president-elect when he was a rising Manhattan real estate tycoon in the 1970s and ’80s. It also explores his relationship with lawyer and mentor Roy Cohn, played in the film by Emmy-winning “Succession” star Jeremy Strong. Amid the film’s theatrical rollout in October, Trump trashed the project on social media — calling it “ a cheap, defamatory and politically disgusting hatchet job .” He slammed the people involved in the film as “human scum,” and suggested it was strategically “put out right before the 2024 presidential election, to try and hurt the greatest political movement in the history of our country.” Following the film’s release and Trump’s presidential victory just weeks later, Stan said other actors have been unwilling to publicly discuss the contentious movie or the polarizing figure at the center of it. During a Q&A about the film in Los Angeles this week, Stan revealed he wasn’t able to participate in an upcoming series for Variety’s “Actors on Actors,” which features one-on-one conversations between actors discussing their work. “I couldn’t find another actor to do it with me, because they were too afraid to to go and talk about this movie. So I couldn’t do it,” he said earlier this week, as seen in a video shared on social media . “We couldn’t get past the publicists or the people representing them, because [they were] too afraid to talk about this movie,” the 42-year-old added. “And that’s when I think we lose the situation. Because if it really becomes like that — fear or that discomfort to talk about this — then we’re really going to have a problem.” Variety Co-Editor in Chief Ramin Setoodeh confirmed Stan’s account. “What Sebastian said is accurate. We invited him to participate in ‘Actors on Actors,’ the biggest franchise of awards season, but other actors didn’t want to pair with him because they didn’t want to talk about Donald Trump ,” he said in a statement to the media. Despite Trump’s scathing review, Stan previously said he “should be grateful” the film depicts him in a “complex, three-dimensional” way, noting those who worked on the project weren’t interested in “simply vilifying or [demonizing]” the real-life subjects of the movie.

Former state Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon and three other women who accused former Attorney General Curtis Hill of drunkenly groping them at an Indianapolis bar dropped their civil lawsuit against him hours before jury selection was set to begin Monday. The women initially sued in federal court in 2019 before filing the civil lawsuit in 2020 claiming that Hill committed battery against them and then defamed them with repeated claims that their allegations were false. Their decision Sunday to drop the suit ends nearly seven years of investigations and litigation surrounding Hill’s actions during a March 2018 party on the final night of that year’s legislative session. Mara Candelaria Reardon, right center; and Samantha Lozano listen as their attorney announces a lawsuit against Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill and the State of Indiana during a press conference in Indianapolis. (AP Photo/Michael Conroy, File) In a statement from their attorneys, the women said they agreed to dismiss the suit after reaching “the frustrating conclusion that proceeding with the trial cannot provide the relief they sought; namely, Mr. Hill accepting responsibility for his actions and admitting his fault in intentionally touching each of them in a sexual manner without consent.” Reardon, who is from Munster, declined to comment Tuesday. In response to sexual harassment allegations made last month against State Senator Greg Taylor, D-Indianapolis, Reardon recently said she was “extremely disappointed” that the culture at the statehouse hasn’t changed since she and the three other women filed the lawsuit. “Nothing has changed, even after we came forward,” Reardon said. “I was very disappointed that nothing substantive has ever changed to create a safe space at the statehouse.” Reardon, who left state politics, said sexual harassment in the statehouse has led to “a talent drain” for Indiana “when talented, bright, amazing women have to leave government — and sometimes the state — because of this abuse.” Current legislators should work toward implementing some workforce changes, Reardon said, which include an independent human resources structure, clear and independent reporting paths and preemptive training and resources. The legislature needs to allow for immediate investigations into any sexual harassment or abuse and consequences for the accused “especially when they admit that they’ve done wrong,” Reardon said. “Democrats and Republicans both have to take a hard look at their behavior. We cannot be known as the statehouse for an abusive workplace. We should be known as policymakers, who change people’s lives for the better,” Reardon said. Reardon said sexual harassment has been disproportionately “a man problem” that disproportionately affects women. The other women in the lawsuit were Gabrielle McLemore Brock, Samantha Lozano and Niki DaSilva. In 2018, Reardon was a Democratic state representative and the three other women were legislative staffers. When legislative leaders approached Hill with findings from their private report, he was “generally apologetic,” according to the Indiana Supreme Court’s disciplinary record. But Hill has repeatedly denied the women’s claims in public. Despite his denials, the Indiana Supreme Court ordered a 30-day suspension of his law license in 2020 after finding “by clear and convincing evidence that (Hill) committed the criminal act of battery” against the women. The Supreme Court justices ruled after nine people who attended the party testified at his professional misconduct hearing. The allegations were a key campaign issue when Hill narrowly lost the 2020 Republican attorney general nomination for his reelection to Todd Rokita, who took office in January 2021.
