Ina Garten is serving up new info on her beef with Martha Stewart . While Martha claims the two had a falling out after she went to prison for five-months in 2004, Ina is once again refuting the claim. "Well, let's just say her story isn't exactly accurate," Ina told People in an interview published Dec. 6. "And, you know, that was 25 years ago." The 76-year-old added, "I think it's time to let it go." Earlier this year, Martha shared what she believed to be the reason for the rift, claiming that Ina was not interested in continuing a relationship after her legal troubles in the early aughts. "When I was sent off to Alderson Prison, she stopped talking to me," the 83-year-old told The New Yorker in September. "I found that extremely distressing and extremely unfriendly." However, Ina "firmly" denied Martha's version of the events, telling the outlet that the two simply lost touch when Martha started spending less time at her Hamptons home near the Barefoot Contessa, and more time at her property in upstate New York. And while Martha's publicist subsequently clarified to the magazine that she was "not bitter at all and there's no feud" between the cooking icons, neither one has shared the current status of their friendship . But that doesn't mean that Martha and Ina have shied away from praising each other over the years. "I think she did something really important," Ina gushed about Martha to Time in 2017, "which is that she took something that wasn't valued, which is home arts, and raised it to a level that people were proud to do it and that completely changed the landscape." The Food Network alum continued, "I then took it in my own direction, which is that I'm not a trained professional chef, cooking is really hard for me—here I am 40 years in the food business, it's still hard for me." But as she pointed out, she wouldn't even have made it onto the Food Network without Martha as the Martha Stewart Living founder wrote about Ina's Hamptons-based The Barefoot Contessa and her on her show, which led to Ina meeting publisher Chip Gibson , who ended up publishing her first cookbook in 1999. While Martha and Ina have attempted to put their feud behind them, keep reading to find out which other celebrity rifts have been going strong in Hollywood for years. Tan France vs. Bobby Berk Bobby (pictured second from left) addressed rumors of a falling out with Tan (middle) in January 2024, two months after he announced his exit from Queer Eye after eight seasons. "I want people to know that Tan and I—we will be fine," he told Vanity Fair . "There was a situation, and that's between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing—and nothing romantic, just to clarify that." In March 2024, Tan responded to allegations that he had campaigned to replace Bobby on Queer Eye with his friend Jeremiah Brent . "Netflix and the production companies did a full-on casting. I didn't put my friend up for the job. They ended up getting it because they were the best person for the job," he said on Instagram. "But I didn't get them hired by getting rid of somebody else." Shannen Doherty vs. Alyssa Milano Following years of rumors of a feud between the two, on a December 2023 episode of her podcast Let's Be Clear , Shannen's former Charmed costar Holly Marie Combs alleged that Alyssa had once made an ultimatum to a show producer to choose between herself and Shannen, which ultimately led to the latter leaving the show in 2001. In February 2024, Alyssa said on Instagram, "I did not have the power to get anyone fired" and that "this was so long ago that any retelling of these stories from anyone is just revisionist history." A day later, Shannen said at a panel event at MegaCon Orlando , "There is no revisionist history happening in the truth that I know we told." In September 2023, while playing a game called Stir the Pot with her daughter Kelly Osbourne on E! News , Sharon said the That '70s Show alum was the rudest celebrity she had ever met, branding him, a "rude, rude, rude, rude little boy" and a "Dastardly little thing." He did not respond to her remarks publicly. Five years prior, Sharon told Larry King that when Ashton appeared on The Talk in 2014, he had an "attitude" after she got his name wrong. "He goes, 'What are you, what have you done in this industry?'" she recalled. "And I was like, 'Kid, don't start with me, because I'm gonna eat you up and s--t you out.' So I was just like, 'You don't know what you're dealing with, kid.'" In August 2022, Cassadee and Maren traded harsh words with Brittany , wife of fellow country star Jason Aldean , after she shared an Instagram Reel of herself applying makeup on Aug. 23, writing, "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life." JoJo Siwa vs. Candace Cameron Bure During a 2022 TikTok challenge, JoJo Siwa described Candace Cameron Bure as the "rudest" celebrity, later explaining that she felt snubbed when Bure once refused to take a picture with her on a red carpet. Shortly after the dig, however, the Full House alum apologized: "I kind of broke your 11-year-old heart. I didn't take a picture with you. Ugh! I feel crummy, I feel—JoJo, I'm so sorry." The two made amends. But months later, Candace was asked if she expects the Great American Family network, of which she serves as chief creative officer, to feature same-sex couples as leads in holiday movies. She said no, adding, "I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core." JoJo, who came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, wrote on Instagram that the actress' comment is "rude and hurtful to a whole community of people." Courtney Love vs. Olivia Rodrigo Back in June 2021, Courtney Love accused Olivia Rodrigo of copying her band Hole 's album cover for a promotional photo without giving credit. Olivia responded, "Love u and live through this sooooo much." Courtney then replied, "Olivia - you're welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! Dm me for deets! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji]." During an appearance Watch What Happens Live , the Happy Days actor was asked why he didn't get along with the Forrest Gump star on the set of the 1989 flick Turner & Hooch . "I was directing that movie for 13 days and then I was called into [producer] Jeff Katzenberg 's office and he said, 'You have everything with you? Go home,'" he said. Winkler did, however, seem to get along with Hanks' four-legged co-star. "I got along great, great with that dog," he said. "Love that dog." He also refused to admit if he's even seen the flick. "You know what you did!" Fans of The Hills will remember that iconic line, delivered by Lauren on the season three premiere. Their feud began when Heidi started dating her now-husband, Spencer Pratt and hit its peak when Lauren accused Heidi and Spencer of starting a rumor that she had made a sex tape with Jason Wahler . Dwayne Johnson vs. Tyrese Gibson The costars reignited their ongoing feud when Tyrese publicly called out Dwayne on Instagram after the Fast and Furious 9 release date was pushed back to April 2020. That same day, it was announced that a Fast and Furious spinoff starring Dwayne and Jason Statham would hit theaters in 2019. The following month, Tyrese threatened to quit Fast 9 if Dwayne was in the movie. Tyrese then opened up about the feud , telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast, "I have yet to talk to The Rock to this day, and we will have a conversation." He shared that he did have a conversation with the former wrestler's producing partner, but not the actor himself. "I found myself being the messenger on behalf of various people associated to the franchise, but stupid me was the only one who went public about those feelings, which is my own fault," Tyrese said. "It's not professional, it's not cool." No more bad blood here. Taylor and Katy had been in a feud for years, even allegedly inspiring Taylor's song "Bad Blood." The drama, which reportedly started over a backup dancer and competing tours, came to an end after Perry sent Taylor a literal olive branch before her Reputation Tour kickoff. "So I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch," Taylor said in an Instagram video. "This mean so much." Taylor captioned the video, "Thank you Katy." Sex and the City costars Kim and SJP had dodged feud rumors for years. But they were reignited after Kim decided not to return for a third movie and made comments about her costar that raised eyebrows. "What was your reaction to Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that you were never friends just colleagues?" Andy Cohen asked SJP on a Sept. 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live . As she explained, "Just...heartbroken. I mean that whole week, you and I spoke about it because I was just...I don't know I found it really upsetting because that's, you know, that's not the way I recall our experience." "So...it's sad but I'm kind of...I don't know, I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience is the thing. It was a professional experience but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives. So I'm hoping that that sort of eclipses anything that's been recently spoken," she continued. "That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with is such a privileged." And though they didn't film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That . The iconic singers have been feuding since 2004. While accepting the Classic Songwriter Award at the Q Awards that year, Elton said to attendees, "Madonna, best f--king live act? F--k off! Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs in public on stage, when you pay like 75 quid to see them, should be shot." The former Grey's Anatomy star sparked a feud with the series creator in 2008 when she removed her name from the Emmy Awards consideration. The actress stated that her reason for the move was because she wasn't "given the material to warrant a nomination." Shonda later opened up about Katherine's decision during an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah's Next Chapter in 2012. "On some level it stung and on some level I was not surprised," she said. "When people show you who they are, believe them. I carry that [mantra] with me a lot. It has served me well." It was the New York Fashion Week fight heard 'round the world when Nicki and Cardi got into a heated altercation at the Harper's Bazaar Icon party. The following month, Cardi opened up about the catalyst for the fight with Nicki. "For a while now she's been taking a lot of shots at me," Cardi said in W magazine 's Art Issue. "I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going." The real spark of the fight came when Cardi saw that Nicki had allegedly liked and then unliked a tweet about Cardi's parenting skills, which Nicki has denied. "I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter," Cardi continued. "I love my daughter. I'm a good-ass f--king mom. So for somebody that don't have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn't the time or the place, but I'm not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block." Tension between Kanye and Taylor first started in 2009, when the "Stronger" rapper took the stage during her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Years later, the two would make up and even become friends, but that came to an end after the release of his song "Famous," in which he name-checks the "End Game" singer. "I don't know her." It's been over 15 years since Mariah and J.Lo's "feud" has been going on. It all started when the Queen of Christmas was asked to give her opinion on several singers during an interview. When asked her opinion on Jennifer, she replied, "I don't know her."
Team Germany enters the tournament as an underdog who will most likely have to fight to avoid relegation. This doesn’t mean that they won’t have interesting players. Here are some players to watch as the World Junior Championships get underway. Norwin Panocha, D Blueliner Norwin Panocha will enter the tournament as the only drafted player from Germany’s roster. This season, Panocha has lined up for the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League (USHL). In 15 games, he has three assists, after starting the season with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Panocha was drafted 205th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft . He has also gained valuable experience on the international stage, playing a crucial role for Germany at the 2023 U18s, recording two goals and one assist in six games. David Lewandowski, F Lewandowski will be a first-time eligible prospect at the 2025 Draft, and his performance this season has certainly caught the attention of scouts. His ability to contribute offensively and his strong hockey sense make him a valuable asset for any team. Lewandowski has also gained experience on the international stage, representing Germany in previous tournaments. Lewandowski, son of former professional player in Germany and Russia, Eduard Lewandowski, isn’t the only player on the roster coming from a dynasty. He started the season at home with the Dusseldorfer EG, failing to score in seven regular-season games. Then, he landed on the Saskatoon Blades, where he was good since the beginning . Lewandowski is expected to play a top-six role for the Germans. Julius Sumpf, F A returnee from last year’s team, Sumpf is having a tremendous season in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he produced 37 points in just 29 games for the Moncton Wildcats. In his second year in North America, Sumpf is becoming a force and will do some damage in Ottawa. Sumpf is expected to be among the team’s top scorers, and while at this point his selection at the upcoming draft is unlikely, considering his age, a strong tournament can raise his stock and maybe a team will give him a chance this summer at an offseason camp. Team Germany’s Chances The Germans will only have one goal: avoid relegation. The players and coaches know it, so a slow start is to be expected, to a certain point. Expect the Germans to gear up after a couple of games, to deliver better performances when things start to matter for their ultimate goal. President-elect Trump and SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son on Monday announced plans by the Japanese internet and telecom company to invest $100 billion in US projects over the next four years, per the . Trump announced the planned investments, which are expected to focus on artificial intelligence, at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Monday, with Son at his side, along with Howard Lutnick, head of investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald and Trump's pick for commerce secretary. The investments by SoftBank are "a monumental demonstration of confidence in America's future," said Trump. Son, meanwhile, said that he wanted to "celebrate the great victory of President Trump" and that he will "bring the world into peace again." SoftBank was founded in 1981 by Son, a brash entrepreneur who studied at the University of California, Berkeley. SoftBank makes investments in a variety of companies that it groups together through its capital venture fund. MAA Announces Increase to Quarterly Common DividendBengaluru: The counting of votes for the fiercely contested bypolls to three assembly constituencies — Channapatna, Shiggaon, and Sandur—will begin at 8am Saturday. The high-stakes elections, held on Nov 13, have pitted the governing Congress against the opposition BJP-JD(S) alliance, with the results likely to impact the state's political trajectory. The bypolls were necessitated after Sandur's E Tukaram (Congress), Shiggaon's Basavaraj Bommai (BJP) and Channapatna's HD Kumaraswamy (JDS) vacated their seats following their election to the Lok Sabha earlier this year. With security tightened across all three counting centres, officials expect the results to become clear by midday. Channapatna has emerged as the most high-profile contest with its 88% voter turnout, reflecting the stakes involved. The seat has become a battleground for two prominent Vokkaliga families — DK Shivakumar and his brother of Congress and the Gowda-Kumaraswamy clan of JD(S). Congress candidate CP Yogeeshwara, a five-time MLA who switched allegiance from BJP just days before the polls, faces JD(S) nominee Nikhil Kumaraswamy, grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda. "These results will crush the arrogance of Shivakumar," Deve Gowda said, emphasizing the bypolls' significance for the Congress govt. Kumaraswamy campaigned extensively for his son, while Yogeeshwara gained the backing of Shivakumar and his brother to consolidate the Vokkaliga vote bank. However, Congress minister Zameer Ahmad Khan's controversial "Kaalia Kumaraswamy" remark may have backfired, potentially uniting Vokkaliga voters behind Nikhil. "The remark could hurt us," Yogeeshwara admitted recently, triggering various speculations about the outcome. For Shivakumar, the byelections are a matter of prestige, following his brother DK Suresh's defeat in the Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha seat earlier this year at the hands of Kumaraswamy's brother-in-law Dr C N Manjunath of BJP. In Shiggaon, BJP's Bharat Bommai, son of former CM Basavaraj Bommai, is fighting to retain the seat for his family, previously represented by his father. Congress fielded Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan, who had lost to Bommai in the 2023 assembly elections. Despite the 80% voter turnout, post-poll analysis suggests that Congress' chances might be hindered by the selection of the candidate and infighting within its ranks. Victory here is significant for both sides—ensuring Basavaraj Bommai's influence within BJP or strengthening Congress' foothold in a constituency that has remained elusive for the governing party. In Sandur, an ST reserved constituency, Congress is counting on E Annapoorna, wife of Bellary MP E Tukaram, to defend its seat against BJP's Bangaru Hanumanthu, president of state BJP ST Morcha and the party's Karnataka chief BY Vijayendra's loyalist. The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 76%, with Annapoorna banking on her husband's influence and the Congress' strong presence. BJP has never won from this constituency. BJP extensively exploited allegations of corruption in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation to secure its first-ever win in Sandur. Reports of widespread betting activity have added an intriguing dimension to the polls. Assets, including vehicles, jewellery and an estimated Rs 300 crore, are reportedly at stake.
OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada's government on Monday proposed C$1.3 billion ($913.05 million) for border security after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump threatened tariffs unless Canada reduced the movement of migrants and drugs into the United States. The border funding proposal was part of the mini-budget, or fall economic statement unveiled on Monday. Trump has threatened 25% tariffs on all exports to the U.S. from Canada and Mexico. The money would go towards Public Safety Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, the Communications Security Establishment, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police," the statement said. The statement said the government intended to introduce legislative amendments to the Customs Act to grant Canada Border Services new authorities to inspect goods destined for export. U.S. border patrol apprehended more than 23,000 migrants near the Canada-U.S. border in the 12 months ending in October - more than double the previous year. That remains a fraction of the 1.5 million apprehended near the U.S.-Mexico border in that time period. Canadian police say they have installed more cameras and sensors over this section of the border over the last four years. Ottawa has previously promised to deploy more officers and technology targeting southbound border-crossers, though Canadian law enforcement officials acknowledge they are limited in what they can do to stop southbound migrants. Last week the province of Alberta announced a border patrol of its own, although very few migrants have crossed there. Abbotsford gourmet hotdog vendor Skully White has announced he is no longer seeking the nomination for the federal Conservative Party in Abbotsford-South Langley. White, the owner of Lullys Food Experience, announced the decision in a social media post on Thursday (Dec. 5), saying he is stepping back to devote more time to his family. White married his wife Kelly, a single mom, in September 2023. “I love this community and always will, but anyone who knows me knows that family comes first,” White wrote in the post. “Our youngest child, who has autism and IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities), is having a difficult time transitioning through adolescence into manhood. “My wife is a rock star, having dealt with this by herself for 18 years, and my heart is telling me I need to be close to home to be her support and to help her navigate this next chapter.” White, 55, announced in May of this year that he was seeking the nomination, joining four others vying for a chance to run in the 2025 federal election. The Abbotsford-South Langley riding will replace the Abbotsford riding, which is currently held by Conservative MP Ed Fast, who in March announced he will retire from federal politics after 18 years. Still seeking the nomination are former longtime Abbotsford West MLA Mike de Jong; Fast’s executive assistant, Mike Murray; Steve Schafer, the vice-president of the Langley-Aldergrove Constituency Association; and Shanjeelin Dwivedi, who has served as a director of parliamentary affairs with two MPs as well as a senior adviser and campaign volunteer. A date for the nomination vote has not been announced. White has been a relentless advocate for finding living donors for people in need of transplants after he experienced the life-changing difference it makes in someone’s life. In late 2020, White donated one of his kidneys to customer Tim Hiscock. He stated in his social media post that he will continue with this endeavour. White said that recently seven new people in need of a new kidney signed up, bringing the total in the community to almost 30. “After much soul searching, I recognize how important helping save lives through the kidney campaign means to me and I want to devote my time to helping this cause,” he said. White said he might re-enter the political ring in the future, “as the notion of helping our community on a larger scale” calls to him.
