A PETROLHEAD discovered a graveyard full of rusted muscle cars including Mustangs, GTOs and Corvettes. Car enthusiast Ryan Brutt uncovered countless classics, including a 1967 Mustang GT fastback, on the site in Detroit, Michigan . As well as stumbling across the Mustang , the car fanatic also found a 1970 Chevelle which was perched on top of a broken-down bus. There was a four-door Pontiac Catalina and a Mustang SportsRoof from 1970 nestled in some weeds. But the cherry on top of the cake was a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang, which Ryan said was one of his "all-time favourite cars". It was also dumped on top of a bus for safe-saving purposes, but he decided to get a better look. "It was even in the right colour. From afar it was a good-looking car, but up close it was bad, very bad," he wrote in an article for Hot Rod . He said that the entire vehicle was "completely rusted out" and one of the doors had been left open for so long a tree had grown through it. Just when they had entered the yard, the pair came across a 1967 GTO and a 1970 Corvette . After popping the hood on the GTO, he came across two four-barrel carburettors in the "complete" car. Cutting his losses, Ryan came across a Cougar and another GTO, which had a small-block Chevrolet engine under the hood. There was also a 1970 Chevelle SS396, which surprised him due to the car's rarity. He said: "This one had not had an easy life. It was pretty much a complete wreck but still wore the SS396 badges on the fenders with honor. "You could still make out the SS stripes on the decklid," he added. In the outdoor Aladin's Cave was a Malibu from 1970, which had an original cowl induction hood which was open. One of the cars held a darker history and had been taken to the scrapyard after it was driven in a murder attempt. Ryan was given a tour of the yard by a fellow car enthusiast who told him that the Coronet 500 was driven by a man who was trying to kill his girlfriend. The sports car had been wrapped around a tree in the collision and the driver had been jailed for his crime. Working his way back through the site, he came across a pair of "nearly complete" 1966 Mustang fastbacks next to each other. On the other side of the section was the car the fellow enthusiast felt was the best on the site, a basically untouched 1970 1/2 Camaro Z28. Looking under the hood, the pair found the original engine with nearly all its original components. He described how "cool" it was to see another car, a 1967 Camaro SS convertible, had come from Berger Chevrolet, the famous Grand Rapids, Michigan supercar dealership. The red car has a red interior and still has the "By Berger" emblem on the tail panel. Ryan, who shares his knowledge on social media, has created a map where he pin points dumped vintage cars for other fans to marvel at. He explained that finding a junkyard filled with old cars is getting more difficult, but he insisted that there are plenty dotted across America.top live casino sites

The film, the first of a of the hit Broadway musical, is expected to have the third-biggest U.S. box office film debut of the year, coming in behind “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Inside Out 2," . Online, fans are praising standout performances from Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the vibrancy and cinematography of Jon M. Chu's direction and the surprising emotional weight of the story, which is inspired by the "i am not the same person i was 3 hours ago," an update to an previous post sharing that they were now watching "Wicked." Many praised specific actors. One X user called Erivo's version of Elphaba "Also the PIPES!!!!" they added, referencing Erivo's powerhouse vocals. Another complimented Ariana Grande's comedic timing as Glinda and her range in "No One Mourns The Wicked," the opening track that sees Glinda publicly celebrate the death of the Wicked Witch of the West, who viewers later learn was her closest friend. Jonathan Bailey, who plays Fiyero in the film, received no shortage of praise for his effusive chemistry on screen and "exquisite management of his charisma," as "The funniest non-spoilery thing about #Wicked is that it’s not just the girls who are swooning for Fiyero. EVERYONE at Shiz is into him, and you never question it because it feels 100% realistic," another "Jonathan Bailey needs to open a school of chemistry because more men need what he has. genuinely why did he have chemistry with every single person in wicked. what is he doing. how is this possible. someone stop him (don’t)," Many on social media shouted out specific musical moments, including the climactic finale of "Defying Gravity" and the rousing and emotional "Dancing Through Life" scene at the Ozdust Ballroom. "this entire defying gravity sequence is gonna stick with me for the rest of my life. a lifechanging movie experience," "this killed me," , captioning a GIF of Glinda wiping away one of Elphaba's tears as they danced together at the Ozdust. Several fans pointed out certain details of the release that made them hesitant to see it, including splitting the "Wicked" musical into two parts and Part One's lengthy runtime — clocking in at more than two hours, 40 minutes. But after seeing the film, some viewers said those reservations were no longer an issue. "I was the biggest skeptic of splitting Wicked into two films but it was FULLY WORTH IT. Easily one of, if not the best movie musicals of the 21st century. I need part 2, and I need a full theme park land," "That was the shortest 2 hours and 40 minutes of my life. I was spellbound," One X user said seeing the film made them understand , which sparked in the weeks leading up to the film's release Nov. 22. "u cant even laugh about ariana and cynthia being dramatic anymore after u watch bc u can genuinely tell wicked IS that serious for them... the love they have for the project really radiated like wow," Over on TikTok, many viewers posted videos spliced together with their reactions before and after watching "Wicked." The overwhelming theme? Tears. Lots and lots of tears. "Here's us before the 'Wicked' movie," at the Los Angeles premiere Nov. 9. The next clip, which is noted "After:," shows Olsen sobbing. ("Same," who originated the role of Glinda in the Broadway musical, notably commented.) “Not a single dry eye in theater,” reads the text on one TikTok that was re with the message, “absolutely EVERYONE cries during wicked. no matter the age nor the gender.” Still, some say they're planning to go through the emotional experience all over again. "saw #wicked tonight and already have plans to see it 3 more times," , accompanied by a viral GIF of Grande crying in an interview. (Universal Pictures and TODAY.com share a parent company, Comcast.) Thiruvananthapuram: French composer and pianist Beatrice Thiriet stressed the importance of music in different aspects of movies and urged directors and producers to include music in the planning stage itself. Delivering the Aravindan Memorial Lecture at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2024 in the city on Monday, Thiriet said that music gives a view of the story, something the story cannot say. She emphasized the importance of having a discussion on what is important in music, what music can do to help understand movies, something a story cannot say, like a perspective in a perspective. Stating the importance of understanding what a director wants from a composer, Thiriet said, "I used to say I have become a musical twin to Pascal Ferran." Thiriet has a long association with the French director. Though the director decides the importance of music in a movie, it's crucial to discuss music at the planning stage because the composer needs time, she said. "Today there are new ways for original scores due to technology, because of which we have time to decide together with the director, music director, sound engineer, and all. But still, it's difficult to decide when to give time to discuss music. It's good to have time to compose music," she said. "It will take one to two weeks to just think about it. Quality is important because the music is going to be in the movie forever," she added. On her approach to a project, Thiriet said, "I will have a silent time in my room with a piano. I will dream. Then read the script, read poetry and then I will let the music come." Cultural and language differences do not pose much of a challenge to making music, she noted. "I watched Aravindan's movie ‘Pokkuveyil', which is based on a raga. That's a different idea. It was a layer," said Thiriet, who has composed music for the Irfan Khan-starrer ‘The Song of Scorpions' by Indian-origin director Anup Singh. She has worked with numerous directors, showcasing eclecticism across genres—symphonic, electronic, jazz and traditional music.ROME (AP) — Romelu Lukaku scored against his former club and Napoli beat struggling Roma 1-0 on Sunday to reclaim the Serie A lead and spoil Claudio Ranieri’s debut with the Giallorossi. Napoli moved one point ahead of Atalanta, Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio. Fiorentina won 2-0 at Como for its seventh consecutive victory and Lazio beat 10-man Bologna 3-0. Lukaku redirected in a cross from Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo early in the second half at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Roma had a chance to equalize but Artem Dovbyk’s header banged off the crossbar. Lukaku played for Roma last season but was one of the main transfer targets when Antonio Conte was hired at Napoli for this season. Ranieri was hired 10 days ago as Roma's third coach of the season, replacing the fired Ivan Juric, who had in turn replaced Daniele De Rossi. Still, Roma remained in 12th place, four points above the relegation zone. Yacine Adli put Fiorentina ahead with a long-range strike early on. Then Moise Kean redirected in a cross midway through the second half for his ninth goal of the season. Fiorentina last won seven straight in a single Serie A campaign in 1960, when it won eight in a row. Bologna was reduced to 10 men when Tommaso Pobega picked up two yellows during the first half. But it took a while until Lazio took control with second-half goals from Samuel Gigot, Mattia Zaccagni and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Patrick Vieira’s debut as Genoa coach was a 2-2 draw with Cagliari. Both of Cagliari’s goals came on penalties, including Roberto Piccoli’s equalizer in the 88th. Vieira was hired on Wednesday to replace the fired Alberto Gilardino. Mario Balotelli came on late for Genoa and didn't make an impact. Torino and Monza drew 1-1. AP soccer: https://apnews.com/hub/soccer

As the Colorado football team awaits its bowl destination, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are piling up awards. On Thursday, Hunter was named the Big 12 defensive player of the year, while Sanders was named the Big 12 offensive player of the year, giving the 23rd-ranked Buffaloes (9-3, 7-2 Big 12; No. 20 AP) a sweep of the top two honors in the conference. The Big 12 honors were voted on by league coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players. This is the third time in CU history that the Buffs have had the conference offensive and defensive players of the year in the same season. In 1989, Darian Hagan (offense) and Alfred Williams (defense) were honored by the Big Eight; and in 1990, Eric Bieniemy (offense) and Williams (defense) were honored by the Big Eight. Sanders (quarterback), Hunter (cornerback and receiver) and BJ Green II (defensive line) all received first-team all-conference honors for the Buffs. Green was named the Big 12’s defensive newcomer of the year. Hunter, widely considered the front-runner for the Heisman Trophy, was the preseason choice for Big 12 defensive player of the year and he certainly didn’t disappoint. He led the Big 12 in passes defended with 15 (four interceptions, 11 passes broken up), despite rarely being targeted in coverage. He also has 31 tackles and had a game-sealing forced fumble in an overtime victory against Baylor. Hunter is just the seventh conference defensive player of the year from CU and only the second in the last 32 years (Jordan Dizon, Big 12 in 2007). The only full-time two-way player in college football, Hunter also received honorable mention for offensive player of the year honors. He leads the Big 12 in receptions (92) and receiving touchdowns (14) and is second in receiving yards (1,152). Sanders is the first CU quarterback to be named first-team all-conference since Koy Detmer in 1996. A senior, Sanders leads the Big 12 in completion percentage (74.2%), passing yards (3,926), touchdown passes (35) and quarterback rating (168.79). He’s also the only quarterback in the country who ranks top five nationally in those four categories. Sanders is the seventh conference offensive player of the year from CU and the second in the last five seasons, joining running back Jarek Broussard (Pac-12, 2020). A transfer from Arizona State, Green led the Buffs and is tied for second in the Big 12 with 7.5 sacks. He’s also third in the conference with a team-high 12 tackles for loss. He also has 30 tackles, a team-high 12 QB hurries and two forced fumbles, as well as a blocked kick. Green is the first Buff to receive conference newcomer of the year honors since Dizon in 2004 in the Big 12. Linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green earned second-team honors, after posting 82 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions. Eight other Buffs received honorable mention at the their positions: defensive backs Preston Hodge, DJ McKinney and Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig; defensive lineman Chidozie Nwankwo; offensive lineman Jordan Seaton; receiver LaJohntay Wester; kicker Alejandro Mata; and punter Mark Vassett. In addition, defensive end Taje McCoy received honorable mention for defensive freshman of the year; Nwankwo honorable mention for defensive lineman of the year; Seaton honorable mention for offensive freshman of the year; and Wester received honorable mention for offensive newcomer of the year. While CU took home the top player honors, Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham was named the Big 12 coach of the year. The 15th-ranked Sun Devils (10-2, 7-2) were projected to finish last in the conference, but will play Iowa State in the Big 12 title game on Saturday. BYU kicker Will Ferrin and Iowa State returner Jaylin Noel were named the co-special teams players of the year. ASU receiver Jordyn Tyson, a transfer from CU, was named the offensive newcomer of the year, and Sun Devils QB Sam Leavitt was the offensive freshman of the year. West Virginia’s Josiah Trotter is the defensive freshman of the year and his teammate, Wyatt Milum, is the offensive lineman of the year. Kansas State’s Brendan Mott was named the defensive lineman of the year. Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks and Kansas QB Jalon Daniels were named the scholar-athletes of the year. On Thursday, Sanders was named as one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award, which honors the top quarterback in the country. It is the only one of the three main quarterback awards to take bowl games into consideration, and the winner will be announced in January. ... According to 247Sports, CU defensive lineman Rayyan Buell is entering the transfer portal. A transfer from Ohio this year, Buell was limited to four games this year because of injury and finished with three tackles and a QB hurry.Segall Bryant & Hamill LLC grew its holdings in SIGA Technologies, Inc. Rosen and fellow Nevada Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto introduced legislation to authorize the construction of a new veterans hospital in Reno through the Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Authorization Act that was passed in the Senate and was signed by President Joe Biden on Nov. 27. Sen. Jacky Rosen The Reno VA Medical Center serves veterans from Sacramento to Salt Lake City. The new state-of-the-art facility is expected to serve 200,000 veterans, Rosen said. “We have veterans that come from all over.” Rosen said the hospital will be constructed on 40 to 50 acres, and a site is being considered near the University of Nevada, Reno, which could benefit both students and veterans. Rosen told the Elko Daily Free Press about the benefits of the new Reno VA hospital and ongoing efforts to support veterans following their discharge from active service. Speaking about the hospital, Rosen said it would “elevate healthcare overall,” noting programs and training in social work, physical therapy and nursing based out of UNR and Truckee Meadows Community Colleges could benefit from the new VA hospital in the area. Delivering “state-of-the-art healthcare” to servicemen and women is a priority, Rosen said. “Our veterans signed on the dotted line to take an oath to the Constitution to protect and defend us regardless of what happens to them,” she explained. “It’s our sacred responsibility to make sure that we take care of them when they come home.” The current Reno VA hospital required an upgrade that would “cost so much,” but the new bill would provide the funding to construct a new facility, Rosen said. The time frame for its opening is “over the next few years,” she said. Rosen explained the larger hospital with additional staff and new technology would become more “efficient” for veterans, along with increasing jobs and boosting the economy in Reno. “Take radiology, for example,” she said. “X-rays that used to take a half-hour [to process] maybe now take 10 minutes. You get more patients through. If you’re a bigger hospital, higher technology and a bigger workforce, you can take care of more people. “I hope it will give us more access to care in every single way and reduce those wait times,” Rosen added. Rosen said she is a member of a six-person delegation that meets regularly to discuss issues pertaining to Nevada veterans, including Cortez Masto and U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei, a Nevada Republican. As a member of the Services Committee, Rosen said discussions have been aimed at helping veterans transition from service to civilian life. It is “important that we follow veterans so that they can continue to get their VA benefits when they need them, even if they are years later.” Tracking veterans years after their discharge is imperative to help with education, jobs, housing and medical services, she added. “Whatever it is, we’re constantly working on trying to improve the transition process from active-duty military to veteran,” Rosen explained. “What skills do you have as active-duty military [serviceman or servicewoman] to veteran that resonates and transfers into the workforce in the civilian sector?” Rosen’s support for veterans has been ongoing as senator. She recently led colleagues in a bipartisan letter urging the Biden Administration to identify and amend military records of hundreds of women veterans who deployed alongside Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq to ensure they accurately reflect their combat service. Rosen also secured authorization for Nevada’s first-ever Veteran Business Outreach Center. Last year, she helped pass the bipartisan PACT Act to extend VA benefits and health care to all veterans suffering from illnesses as a result of exposure to burn pits and other toxins during their service overseas. In the letter, Rosen and her colleagues point out the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, which she helped pass, authorized $60 million for NARA, the National Archives and Records Administration, to address the records backlog by digitizing service records to improve response times for requests from veterans for their military service records. Due to staffing shortages during the pandemic, NARA staff struggled to respond to veterans’ requests for documents and the backlog climbed to 600,000. Rosen was part of a bipartisan delegation that sought answers from NARA about a backlog of requests for veterans’ service records from those seeking government benefits, medical treatment, unemployment assistance and emergency housing. CHICAGO — The Vikings had won four straight games at Soldier Field before Sunday. Some of their wins had even come in relatively normal fashion. In other words, they’d tempted fate for too long. They’d led by 14 points in the second half against the Bears, and then by 11 points with two minutes left. Two major special teams gaffes aided a Bears rally to send the game to overtime. But the Vikings forced a punt, and they rebounded from a first-down sack that put them at second-and-17 from their own 14. Parker Romo hit a 29-yard field goal to win it 30-27 in overtime and improve the Vikings’ record to 9-2. It was the fifth straight win in a building that had previously been a house of horrors for them for most of the 21st century. Sunday’s game had moments of calamity for the Vikings — especially when they lost Ivan Pace Jr. to a hamstring injury, left tackle Cam Robinson to a foot injury and saw Sam Darnold hobble off the field for two plays with a foot injury — but they built a 14-point lead, and survived the Bears’ late comeback. Darnold threw for 90 yards on the Vikings’ field-goal drive to end the game. He finished with 330 yards, the second-most in Vikings history by a quarterback at Soldier Field.LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora on Sunday highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring the constitutional protection of minorities on Sunday, emphasising efforts to create an inclusive society with equal opportunities and rights for all citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
