They also found that by preventing hospital supplies and medicine from getting into Gaza, doctors were forced to operate, including performing amputations, without anesthesia or with unsafe means of sedation that led to "great suffering." Israeli diplomatic officials said the government is lobbying the international community to speak out against the warrants and is considering an appeal to the court. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity pending a formal decision on how the government will proceed. Despite the warrants, none of the suspects is likely to face judges in The Hague anytime soon. Member countries are required to detain suspects facing a warrant if they set foot on their soil, but the court has no way to enforce that. For example, Russian President Vladimir Putin, wanted on an ICC warrant for alleged war crimes in Ukraine, recently visited Mongolia, a member state in the court but also a Russian ally. He was not arrested. Still, the threat of arrest now complicates any travel abroad by Netanyahu and Gallant. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the warrants are binding on all 27 members countries of the European Union. France signaled it could arrest Netanyahu if he came to its territory. Boeing is resuming production of its bestselling plane, the 737 Max, for the first time since 33,000 workers began a seven-week strike that ended in early November. The company said Tuesday that plane-building resumed at its plant in Renton, Washington, after going through a process of training workers and identifying and fixing potential problems. Boeing shares rose 4.5%, their best single-day percentage gain in nearly four months. Production and deliveries of Max jets and another airline plane, the 787 Dreamliner, have been stopped several times in recent years to fix manufacturing flaws. “Our team has worked methodically to restart factory operations in the Pacific Northwest. The main priority at COP29 is agreeing on a new target to replace the current US$100bn a year that developed countries provide to developing countries to reduce emissions and adapt to disasters, that expires in 2025. The key elements of the deal circulated on Friday afternoon by the COP Presidency are: The latter refers to China, rich Arab countries and others to make appropriate voluntary contributions. In fact, China already billions of dollars climate funds to developing countries. Poorer countries are very disappointed with this offer because they expected most of the $1.3tn to be from public sources and to be offered with no strings attached. But leaving COP29 without a finance deal could make the job at COP30 in Brazil next year that much harder. Delegations will now assess this deal as the talks go into overtime. It is very likely that there will be at least version before the deal is finalized this weekend, but it is unlikely that it will contain major changes. One of the documents released by the COP29 presidency, as part of the final deal, is entitled “Taking forward the outcomes of the global stocktake.” It starts by reaffirming the outcomes of the first global stocktake at COP28 and it notes the work conducted under the UAE just transition work programme in 2024 and emphasizes the importance of its implementation. The UNFCCC insists that it is the only legitimate body to decide on climate and agree on the climate finance goal. But in reality it is the G20 that can decide how that goal is reached. The G20is where major economies make the decisions, and the UN is where all countries have a say. But now we have another dimension. The election of Donald Trump to the US Presidency and his threat to pull the US out of the Paris Agreement, threatens to derail the outcome of COP29. It could prove to be “a major blow to global climate action.” It has already introduced a great deal of uncertainty at a time when it is urgent to arrive at decisions on lowering emissions and tackling global warming. Little progress has been made in limiting emissions of greenhouse gases that are driving up temperatures. A recent UN report said global efforts to tackle climate change are seriously off track. New data shows that warming gases are accumulating in the atmosphere faster than at any time in human existence. It is now more or less certain that 2024 will be the world’s warmest on record. Global average temperatures across the year are on track to end up more than 1.5C above pre-industrial levels, which would make 2024 the first calendar year to breach this “symbolic mark.” This latest record helped focus minds at COP29 on the urgent need for action to limit any further warming. A recent UN report warned that, without change, “the world is on track to reach 3C warming by the end of the century.” The UN says that limiting temperature rise to the 1.5C target is still “technically possible”, but only with huge cuts to emissions over the next decade, something that is verging on the impossible. These are the initial indications. There are signs that China plans to take a more central role in the future. It is becoming more open about its plans and more participative in the COP process and may take a more active and cooperative role in future COPs. For the first time, Chinese officials said at COP29 that the country has paid developing countries more than $24.5bn for climate action since 2016. With demand for green technology likely to increase in developing countries as a result of the COP29 deal, China -being a major exporter of such technology- will have much to gain. Taking a more prominent role is in its interest and can only help. Despite accusations that this was “one of the most chaotic COP meetings ever,” it has ended with a deal. It may not be quite what developing countries were hoping for, but it has, nevertheless, delivered funds to tackle climate change. The world needs to find ways to reduce emissions in constructive way and in a consistent approach. But this needs to do that “while we are balancing the needs of people around the world to have affordable energy.”

Which is where that initial question comes in. After the events of the D&D episode of Secret Level , for example, what if we would like more? What if we wished to rejoin the paladin Mora and her fellow travelers as they mounted their next exciting quest? We can’t. In Secret Level , no matter how compelling it is, the action and characters from one installment don’t carry over to the next, which starts anew inside the visual space and storytelling of an entirely different video game. This is both a big credit to the series and a minor detriment. It shows so much proficiency in creating these deeply-imagined addendums to established worlds, all we want is more. Who knows, maybe Secret Level returns to what it’s created alongside these games in additional seasons. But for now, we’re just going to imagine these installments like fun little daydreams, imagined storylines from games played set to motion, punctuated with smart details imported from each of those universes. Sex and Skin: None. Parting Shot: The screen is awash in flame as Solon, Mora, Tally, Luzum, and Ahokal turn to face their next adversary. Over the years, Solon got used to doing this kind of thing all alone. But now he has friends. Sleeper Star: Laura Wohlwend is a standout as Tally, a gnome conjurer, in the first installment of Secret Level . She can wield a fireball with the snap of a finger. But Wohlwend is also able to move the character’s arc from suspicion to trust effectively in the tight space of the first episode, which is essentially a Dungeons & Dragons -themed short story. Most Pilot-y Line: “What in the Nine Hells?” It’s a quick line in an otherwise larger battle sequence. But the reference to a mysterious land of devils inside the Dungeons & Dragons narrative shows off Secret Level ’s flair for a deep cut. Our Call: Stream It! Secret Level should be a boon for gamer heads, as it emulates and expands upon the established look and feel of heavyweight video game titles like Dungeons & Dragons , Unreal Tournament , Sifu , and Warhammer 40,000 .
