1 2 3 Guwahati: Manipur, Assam, and Meghalaya are racing against time to complete the 100 per cent target in providing tap water connections to rural households, with close to 80 per cent coverage achieved. Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram have reached the 100 per cent target of providing tap water to households before the water crisis begins in the dry season. After achieving 81.31 per cent piped water supply coverage under JJM, no progress in JJM works has occurred since Oct amid quality assessment. Pointing out deficiencies in quality control and delays in project timelines, a temporary suspension was implemented on all projects under the JJM in Assam from Oct. An audit of the projects was commissioned. A govt release recently stated that Assam achieved a remarkable milestone, with tap water connections reaching over 82% of households, a substantial increase from just 1.67% in 2019. Public health engineering minister Jayanta Malla Baruah reaffirmed the govt's commitment to stringent monitoring of JJM projects and acknowledged the media's crucial role in identifying areas for enhancement. According to the JJM dashboard, as of Wednesday, among the northeastern states, Nagaland ranks third with 92.60 per cent coverage in household tap water connections. Tripura holds the fourth position with 84.62 per cent coverage, while Meghalaya (81.36) and Assam (81.31) occupy the fifth and sixth positions respectively. Violence-affected Manipur remains at the bottom among northeastern states with 79.58 per cent coverage. Before reaching a temporary halt, JJM Assam achieved 81% (i.e., 58.45 lakh) functional household tap connections alongside several other social initiatives. The endeavour has been to cover nearly 75 lakh rural households across 25,000 plus villages throughout the state, implementing via 8,000 plus contractors and utilising Rs. 19,550 crores thus far. Assam is implementing over 27,000 piped water supply schemes (PWSS) across the state, of which, a govt release said approximately 15,800 have been completed. However, it said challenges persist regarding project delays and suspected quality issues considering the scale of implementation and varied contractor capabilities in certain regions. The state govt maintains that the temporary standstill period was initiated to review the quality and timelines of ongoing projects. A team from the Centre for Urbanization, Buildings and Environment (CUBE), a joint initiative of IIT Madras and the Govt of Tamil Nadu, arrived in Assam in Nov to professionally evaluate the implemented works and submit a report with their observations and suggested improvements. These observations shall provide insights and data for enhanced decision-making by state authorities to ensure a sustainable drinking water supply to Assam's rural population. Ten inspection teams from CUBE, comprising 20 people, commenced evaluating work standards from Nov 2, 2024, across all districts. While sources indicate the assessment's completion, attention now focuses on future strategies to achieve complete coverage, particularly when 11 states and union territories have already attained 100 percent coverage nationwide. What is the economic legacy of Manmohan Singh in India? Both the Left and the Right would like to remember him as the man who brought economic reforms and privatisation to what was a State-dominated Licence-Quota Raj economy. Singh, himself would have liked to differ. “What is the future of capitalism especially in India?” Singh was asked in a 2009 Financial Times interview. His answer would have disappointed market fundamentalists. “Capitalism with a human face. We are a mixed economy. We will remain a mixed economy. The public and private sector will continue to play a very important role,” he answered. To be sure, Singh’s ideas of a mixed economy were radically different from what his party, the Congress, tried to achieve when India gained Independence. The Report of the South Commission, published in 1990 ( Singh was the secretary-general of the commission) provides some insights into Singh’s thoughts on the misplaced romanticism on State-led development strategies in the Third World. “In many countries, the State has underachieved precisely because it has tried to do too much, too soon... In such conditions, the withdrawal of the State from some activities may well enhance its effectiveness as an instrument of development,” the report said. Also Read: How Manmohan Singh’s economic reforms changed India Singh’s 1991 budget speech, perhaps the most important in post-Independence India till date, echoed this sentiment. “The public sector has made an important contribution to the diversification of our industrial economy. But there have been a number of shortcomings. In particular, the public sector has not been able to generate internal surpluses on a large enough scale. At this critical juncture, it has therefore become necessary to take effective measures so as to make the public sector an engine of growth rather than an absorber or national savings without adequate return”, it said. The 1991 Union Budget was accompanied by a new industrial policy which de-reserved a large number of sectors from public sector monopoly. It is in this transformation of the Indian economy that Singh played the most important role, first as the finance minister in the 1991 Narasimha Rao government and then as the prime minister of India for 10 years from 2004 to 2014. If the somewhat crude yardstick of GDP growth rates – external factors can emerge as big disruptors and some policies only yield a growth dividend in the long-run – is applied to judge Singh’s performance, his was one of the most successful tenures in India. As an academic-turned-technocrat, Singh hit the political ground running, learning to deal with the constraints politics puts on policymaking. The Narasimha Rao government was a minority one. But the first resistance to undoing the Nehruvian consensus on economic policy came from within the Congress party. A lot of the 1991 reform was actually reform by stealth, wrapped in rhetorical commitments to continue the old ways. While political expediency necessitated that Singh displayed commitment to the old guard on the outside, he was pretty firm when it came to pushing his reform agenda on the inside. In his essay The Road to the 1991 Industrial Policy Reforms and Beyond , published in the collection India Transformed: 25 Years of Economic Reforms , former Reserve Bank of India deputy governor Rakesh Mohan (who was then working in the industry ministry) provides an account of Singh’s firm resolve to push the reform process. “Within a few days of his appointment (as finance minister), Manmohan Singh called a meeting of all the secretaries of the major economic ministries and the chief economic adviser.... Manmohan Singh outlined the full economic reform programme that was to be followed over the next five years — and more importantly, over the next six weeks. The latter included immediate action to be taken on industry policy. He said quite clearly that he had the full mandate of the Prime Minister to do whatever had to be done to solve the crisis... Since he knew that some of the mandarins present were not on board with the kind of liberalising economic reforms envisaged, he added: ‘If any of you have any difficulty with the proposed reform programme, we can find other things for you to do!’ This was perhaps the most firm and forceful that I ever saw Dr Manmohan Singh.” Welfare State The first four years of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, of which Singh was the head, were spent on the parliamentary support of the communists, the most consistent critiques of economic reforms or neoliberal policies in India. This phase saw radical and progressive changes in India’s social-democratic fabric. The enactment of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, the largest demand driven employment programme in the world and the Right to Information Act are some such examples. The welfare push would continue in the second term of the UPA, this time without the support of the communists – they parted ways on the question of the Indo-US Nuclear Deal – and on the back of improved performance of the Congress party itself. And it would continue with the NDA under Narendra Modi. The 2009 election results were perhaps the biggest political vindication of Singh’s vision of capitalism with a human face. Things changed soon after the moment of glory. While the 2008 economic crisis did not have an immediate effect on India’s growth prospects, the export engine of growth ran into headwinds soon after. This, accompanied by a sharp rise in commodity prices and what many economists believe was a delayed withdrawal of the fiscal stimulus, which was administered to deal with the 2008 crisis, made things very difficult for the Indian economy. Inflation, fiscal deficit and trade deficit shot up; growth slowed. From being seen at the cusp of sustained double digit growth rates, India joined the infamous club of fragile five countries, whose macroeconomic fundamentals were deeply in the red. The fact that the UPA did not do enough to reform governance structure in banks played a big role in the pile-up of bad loans in the banking system. This would emerge as a major impediment to growth, something which created the twin-balance sheet problem. The post-2008 crisis was also a moment of reckoning for Singh’s economic philosophy of capitalism with a human face. With revenue growth drying up and a rise in economic misery, largely a result of an upward turn in prices, his government found it impossible to balance the macro economy and welfare demands. The best, and perhaps most hard-headed articulation of this growing contradiction was given by Singh himself in a 2012 speech, which among other things was trying to justify a hike a price of diesel and a cap on the number of subsidised LPG cylinders. “...The subsidy on petroleum products has grown enormously. It was ₹ 1 lakh 40 thousand crores last year. If we had not acted, it would have been over ₹ 200,000 crores this year. Where would the money for this have come from? Money does not grow on trees. If we had not acted, it would’ve meant a higher fiscal deficit, that is, an unsustainable increase in government expenditure vis-a-vis government income. If unchecked, this would lead to a steep rise in prices and a loss of confidence in our economy,” Singh said. Both the UPA government and Singh’s political clout could not recover from the economic crisis, which ultimately paved way for a sweeping Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) victory in 2014, followed by an even bigger victory in 2019. To be sure, myriad allegations of corruption against various UPA ministers also played a role in diminishing the Congress’s, especially Singh’s credibility in the eyes of the voters. Singh himself admitted that his hands were tied because of political considerations. “My compulsion is that I have to bear a lot because we cannot have elections every six months,” a 2011 HT story quoted Singh as saying. “Some compromises have to be made in managing a coalition. A coalition government has to be viewed in a context that no single party has emerged to rule by itself,” he said, adding: “In a coalition, there is a coalition dharma. Obviously things are not entirely what I would like them to be. But quite frankly, I never felt like resigning. I have a job to do.” Singh, of all people, should have realised what such a politics would lead to. Once again, the 1990 South Commission Report, which Singh played a lead role in writing, was prophetic. “Politics in the management of development cannot be wished away. But if it is to be creative, politics must be the servant of social sympathies. It must be an instrument for purposeful social change rather than a ticket to power and privilege or another lucrative profession.” In a media interaction in January 2014, months before the Congress would face a crushing defeat, Singh made a brave attempt to defend his legacy. “I honestly believe that history will be kinder to me than the contemporary media, or for that matter, the Opposition parties in Parliament. I cannot divulge all things that take place in the Cabinet system of government. I think, taking into account the circumstances, and the compulsions of a coalition polity, I have done as best as I could under the circumstances.”. Whether the Congress party and Singh’s legacy will gain their lost glory is a question best left to the future. However, one can say with a reasonable degree of confidence and gratitude that Manmohan Singh was instrumental in India’s smooth transition from an ossified economy in the shackles of misplaced beliefs of State-led transformation to a market-oriented one without major disruptions and collateral damage. There are far too many examples of failed shock therapies and lost decades, a result of complete surrender to the exuberance of the Washington Consensus advocates, which teach us that India should always be grateful to Dr Singh for the fine balance he set out to achieve – and did.Former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez has revealed why Conor McGregor will struggle to escape his UFC contract. McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since 2021 when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy bout. He became the first fighter in Dana White’s promotion to hold two belts simultaneously after knocking out Alvarez eight years ago at UFC 205. Since dropping his lightweight title to McGregor, Alvarez has left the UFC and debuted for ONE Championship. Now, he’s working with the Irishman once again as a star of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). “Realistically, I think he still has two fights left on his UFC contract,” Alvarez told MMA Fighting on Wednesday. “I just know how difficult it is, especially when you’re that valuable to a company. “I haven’t been as valuable as Conor, but back when I was basically Bellator’s main guy, I know how difficult it is to get out of those contracts. “They don’t make it easy.” Alvarez makes his third appearance under the BKFC banner against Jeremy Stephens at KnuckleMania 5 in January 2025. McGregor has also reportedly been exploring a move into the bare-knuckle promotion that he became a part-owner of in April. However, the former two-division UFC champion announced this month on social media that he was in talks with YouTuber-turned-WWE star Logan Paul for an exhibition boxing contest. He posted on X: “I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambrani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. "I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon." Just two hours after his claim, Jake Paul — Logan’s younger brother, who fought Mike Tyson in November — respoded by stating McGregor had initially contacted him over a possible meeting. He said: "Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor and his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us. "As we told them privately and I’m now saying it publicly... "The only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are okay with discussions. "Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan [to win] by however he wants." Jake and White have gone back and forth in a bitter feud now in recent years and the UFC President has previously declared he would never work with him or his brother. This leaves McGregor in a sticky situation, as he would have to get permission from his boss White to compete against either Paul brother in a boxing bout, just like when he fought Floyd Mayweather . Speaking on McGregor’s potential endeavours into BKFC, Alvarez admitted that a move is unlikely to take place. “For him, making the company hundreds of millions of dollars, I don’t think it’s going to be an easy exit,” he said. “I think he still has two more fights with the UFC, and I’m not sure how old Conor is, but he’s not getting any younger. “It’s going to be tough for him to fight those fights out and move onto another contract. “So realistically, I don’t know if he could fight BKFC, and if he does, it’ll be maybe when he’s older.”
CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Joseph Paintsil and Dejan Joveljic scored in the first half, and the LA Galaxy won their record sixth MLS Cup championship with a 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. After striking twice in the first 13 minutes of the final with goals from their star forwards, the Galaxy nursed their lead through a scoreless second half to raise their league’s biggest trophy for the first time since 2014. MLS’ most successful franchise struggled through most of the ensuing decade, even finishing 26th in the 29-team league last year. But the Galaxy turned everything around this season with a high-scoring new lineup that finished second in the Western Conference and then streaked through the playoffs with a whopping 18 goals in five games to win another crown. Sean Nealis scored for the seventh-seeded Red Bulls, whose improbable charge through the playoffs ended one win shy of its first Cup championship. With the league's youngest roster, New York fell just short of becoming the lowest-seeded team to win MLS' playoff tournament under first-year German coach Sandro Schwarz. Galaxy goalkeeper John McCarthy made four saves to win his second MLS title in three seasons. He was the MVP of the 2022 MLS Cup Final for the Galaxy's crosstown rival, Los Angeles FC. The Galaxy won this title without perhaps their most important player. Riqui Puig, the playmaking midfielder from Barcelona who ran their offense impressively all season long, tore a ligament in his knee last week in the Western Conference final. Puig watched the game in a suit, but his teammates hadn't forgotten him: After his replacement, Gastón Brugman, set up LA's opening goal with a superb pass, Paintsil held up Puig's jersey to their fans during the celebration. Paintsil put the Galaxy ahead in the ninth minute when he ran onto that sublime pass from Brugman and pounded home his 14th MLS goal — including four in the playoffs — in the Ghanaian forward's outstanding first season. Just four minutes later, Joveljic sprinted past four New York defenders and chipped home the 21st goal of his outstanding year as the Galaxy's striker. Nealis got New York on the scoreboard in the 28th minute when he volleyed home a ball that got loose in LA's penalty area after a corner. The Galaxy's usually shaky defense gave up another handful of good chances before reaching halftime with a tenuous lead. The second half was lively, but scoreless. Red Bulls captain Emil Forsberg hit the outside of the post in the 72nd minute, while Gabriel Pec and Galaxy substitute Marco Reus nearly converted chances a few moments later. The ball got loose again in the Galaxy's penalty area in the third minute of extra time, but two Red Bulls couldn't finish. The Galaxy bench rushed onto the field and prematurely celebrated a victory in the seventh minute of injury time, only to be herded back off for another 30 seconds of play. The Galaxy finished 17-0-3 this season at their frequently renamed suburban stadium, where the sellout crowd of 26,812 for the final included several robust cheering sections of traveling Red Bulls supporters hoping to see their New Jersey-based club’s breakthrough on MLS’ biggest stage. The Galaxy’s Greg Vanney became the fourth coach to win an MLS title with two clubs. The former Galaxy player also won it all with Toronto in 2017. The club famous for employing global stars from David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Robbie Keane and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández rebuilt itself this season with lesser-known young talents from around the world. The Galaxy signed Pec from Brazil and the Ghanaian Paintsil out of Belgium, and the duo combined with incumbent Serbian striker Joveljic to form a potent attack that could outscore almost any MLS opponent. But the Galaxy also relied heavily on Puig, their Catalan catalyst and one of MLS’ best players. Puig stayed in last week's game after injuring his knee, and he even delivered the decisive pass to Joveljic for the game’s only goal. AP soccer: https://apnews.com/soccer

Enthusiast cars tend to be quite divisive for one reason or another. Gearheads tend to be pretty specific with their tastes, which often leads to certain cars having cult followings and other cars being highly criticized for many reasons, from not living up to expectations to not having the specific engine that a small subset of cars people want. There's also enthusiast car royalty. These cars are constantly in the spotlight for a multitude of reasons, and enthusiasts can't seem to get enough of them. In the same way that gearheads have strong negative opinions about some of these cars, they also have quite the strong positive opinions about others. Indeed, some of these cars deserve the hype, and are as good as car people make them out to be. Sometimes, however, this transcends anything related to hype or simply being fans of a certain car, and it has led to a lot of enthusiast cars that are absurdly and bizarrely overrated. Technically, the Lamborghini Urus is supposed to be an enthusiast car, a more practical SUV from an enthusiast brand commonly known for its involvement in the supercar business. The Urus is not Lambo's first production SUV, but it is the first one that isn't a nightmare to own. In many respects, the Urus is an impressive car. The original version packed 641 horsepower from its turbo V8, and the latest Urus SE plug-in hybrid pushes well over 800 horsepower. It takes less than four seconds to reach 60 mph, it drives pretty well for what it is, and it tops out at 190 mph, which is not something a lot of SUVs can brag about. However, in the few years that the Urus has been with us, it has become somewhat of a hype car. People can't seem to stop posting it all over social media, and it got lost in this thick fog of hype, even though it was always planned to be just the Lamborghini of SUVs. It's also not the best looking, which is another way of saying that it's hideously overstyled and a little ungainly. There are many overrated cars, but few can quite claim to be on the same level of overrated as the R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R. This was the final generation of the iconic performance car to use the Skyline nameplate, and it was sold only in Japan throughout the late 90s and the early 2000s. It would be silly to dispute that the Skyline GT-R is an impressive car because it undeniably is. The RB26DETT engine is fantastic in stock form, but it gets even better when you add more power. Combined with AWD and incredible chassis tuning, the R34 was very difficult to beat for the standards at the time. Then, "2 Fast 2 Furious" happened. Despite its comparative lack of screen time in that movie, the Skyline GT-R quickly became the absolute king of the Japanese car community. Combined with the unfortunate passing of Paul Walker , who actually owned several of these in real life, we are now living in a time where people are justifying spending $300,000 on what is, ostensibly, a late 90s Nissan. For that money, you can have about six used R35 GT-Rs in good condition, and the R35 GT-R is faster, more powerful, and handled even better. It was officially sold in North America, making it much easier to source. In the world of Japanese car fandom, if you're not in camp R34, then you are definitely in camp Mk4 Supra. Launched in the early 90s, the A80 Toyota Supra was the final generation of Toyota's flagship grand touring sports car, at least before the excellent GR Supra, co-developed with BMW, appeared at the end of the previous decade. Powering the A80 Supra was the iconic 2JZ six-cylinder engine, which was either naturally aspirated or turbocharged. Obviously, this engine is known for taking a beating when it comes to tuning and for being ultra-reliable, and we're not gonna sit here and explain how the 2JZ wasn't a very good engine. The Supra was, at its core, a grand tourer. It was heavy, approaching the weight of a modern Camry, and while it was good to drive, it was never all that special. But again, its appearance in various media franchises means a pristine Mk4 Supra is now worth six figures. For comparison's sake, you can quite easily buy any other 90s Toyota with 200,000 miles on the odometer off Craigslist for whatever small amount of cash you currently have in your wallet. Over a decade ago, we would have said that the Mazda Miata deserves the hype, including the original NA Miata. However, these days, it's absolutely out of control. We're not disputing the Miata's contribution to the world of sports cars because it is truly a massive one. Taking inspiration from British roadsters of the 60s and 70s, the Miata was conceived as a modern interpretation with limited power, RWD, a manual transmission, and a removable roof. It was an absolute smash hit, and it continues to be the best-selling small sports car of all time. While the Miata is a great car in just about every way, the hype surrounding it is absolutely crazy. You can't go more than a few minutes on social media without seeing an NA Miata flexing its pop-up headlights, or some bizarre modifications that include mounting a tongue and teeth to the grille to make it look like it has a face. Good car? Yes. Completely overhyped nowadays? Absolutely yes. With the refresh of the Challenger back in 2015, Dodge decided to shoot for the stars and create the most powerful muscle car in history. Enter the Hellcat, which initially featured the namesake 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with an incredible 707 horsepower. From 2015 to the present day, this engine was pushed to well over 1,000 horsepower, allowing the Challenger to obliterate multiple production car records, including 0-60 and 1⁄4 mile times. The obscene power combined with the old-school muscle car feel contribute to the Hellcat being a special car. With the demise of the Hellcat powertrain and the LX platform vehicles, the Challenger Hellcat has started to garner quite the reputation in the car community. In actuality, the Hellcat's competitors will run rings around it on the race track. Let's face the facts: the Hellcat is a bit of a one-trick pony — just one that persistently has yellow front splitter guards. It's not really a precision tool. The Tesla Model S is more than a decade old now, and we can't deny the influence the Model S has had on the automotive industry as a whole. In fact, it might even be the most influential car of the past decade due to its contribution to the industry shift towards electrification. A couple of years ago, Tesla gave the Model S a thorough refresh, including revised exterior styling and a completely overhauled interior. As part of this refresh, the top-of-the-line Plaid model was introduced, with a 1,020 horsepower tri-motor setup, a claimed 0-60 time of less than two seconds, and a top speed of 200 mph. Indeed, along with all of that, the Model S Plaid does have some other cool features, too. Sure, the Model S Plaid's acceleration is very, very impressive, and even the most jaded of drivers and passengers will be shocked. However, at the end of the day, it's a decade-old car with quality control issues, a really high sticker price, and it doesn't even have a proper steering wheel.Like all other Teslas, it isn't that good of a car in the long run. You're better off spending your money on a Lucid Air Sapphire, and if electric isn't a requirement, Bob's your uncle. Don't worry — even though you can have multiple R35 GT-Rs for the price of a single R34, that doesn't mean the R35 is any less overrated. When the R35 GT-R arrived back in the late 2000s, it was the first Nissan with a GT-R badge to be sold globally, and initially, it was a very impressive car. Despite having "only" a twin-turbo V6 under the hood, the GT-R could easily keep up with and surpass a lot of the very best supercars and sports cars of its day. As time went on, the competition caught up, and the GT-R became an ancient veteran that just didn't perform as well in comparison. Nissan stubbornly continued making the GT-R, finally ending the obscenely long production run after model year 2024. The GT-R might have been the supercar killer once, but by the mid-2010s, it lost the magic when it became the must-have car for YouTube daily vloggers. Nobody believed that Volkswagen could actually do it, but as soon as it bought Bugatti back in the early 2000s, it promised that it would build the fastest production car in the world. Launched in the mid-2000s, the original Veyron 16.4 was exactly that: shortly after its launch, became the fastest production car in the world, reaching 253 mph. Later versions of the Veyron achieved even higher speeds, and Bugatti became the first automaker to break the 300 mph barrier with a modified Chiron. The Veyron was a special car, sure, but over the past few years, the magic has been somewhat lost. For one, you can get more power and better acceleration from an electric sedan nowadays. Veyrons are incredibly expensive and difficult to own, and it's no fun owning a car that you're too scared to drive. While the Veyron's speed record was and still is impressive, the McLaren F1 is the more special of the two: it's the fastest naturally aspirated production car in the world, and not a single car has dethroned it since.
Gladstone Commercial: Too Cheap To IgnoreManchester City, Arsenal, and now Tottenham. The list of top Premier League teams beaten at Bournemouth this season is growing. Dean Huijsen took advantage of Tottenham’s weakness at set pieces to head home a 17th-minute winner in Bournemouth’s 1-0 victory on Thursday. After the game, some Spurs fans appeared to vent their frustration at manager Ange Postecoglou when he went over to the away contingent following his team's insipid display. “They are pretty disappointed, rightly so, and I got some pretty direct feedback as to how we are going,” the Australian coach said, “and that's fair enough.” Bournemouth climbed to ninth — a point and a place above Tottenham in the standings — and underlined its penchant for surprising high-profile visitors to Vitality Stadium. Man City’s remarkable four-game losing run in the Premier League started with a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth, while fellow title contender Arsenal’s first loss of the season also came at the Vitality, 2-0 on Oct. 19. This was Spurs' sixth defeat of the campaign. They now have as many wins as losses, highlighting the inconsistency blighting their season, and their seven away results so far make remarkable reading: aside from a 3-0 win at Manchester United and a 4-0 thrashing of Man City, Tottenham has lost four and drawn the other at relegation candidate Leicester. “We've got to get out of this space we're in at the moment where we're just not able to get a real grip on our season,” Postecoglou said. An inability to defend set plays continues to hurt Postecoglou’s team. A week after Roma scored twice from them in a 2-2 draw in the Europa League, Huijsen roamed free in the area at a corner and headed home unmarked. Postecoglou said in May said he “wasn’t interested” about his side’s fallibility while defending set pieces, and said after losing 1-0 to Arsenal in September — after a goal from Gabriel at a corner — that “it’s my burden to carry and I’m happy to do that.” “We started well and conceded a really poor goal," Postecoglou said after the Bournemouth game. “It’s a difficult place to come when giving the opposition the opportunity to play in the manner they want.” IWOBI DOUBLE Alex Iwobi scored goals early and late in the game to lead Fulham to a 3-1 win over Brighton. The Nigeria winger intercepted a stray pass out from the back by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen and slotted into an unguarded net for the opener in the fourth minute and curled home Fulham’s clinching goal in the 87th. Carlos Baleba equalized for Brighton in the 56th before Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley – a former Fulham academy player – deflected the ball into his own net from a corner to put the home side back in front. Fulham climbed to sixth in the standings, a point and a place behind Brighton. AP soccer: https://apnews.com/hub/soccerBad Bunny announces a new album, 'Debí Tirar Más Fotos'
